It’s that time of year, again! The much anticipated ITEXPO East will take over Miami’s South Beach next week, providing resellers, enterprises, SMBs, and Government organizations the tools and information they need to decipher the future of Internet telephony. From Tuesday to Thursday, January 27-29, educational keynotes, training sessions, and workshops will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Some hot topics this year include cloud, mobility, disaster recovery, and perfecting the selling process. As you might expect, there’s also a strong focus on integrating all forms of communication in order to streamline not only the selling process, but the customer experience, as well. Of course, we have lots of Digium team members headed to ITEXPO, and there are several opportunities for you to connect with us while at the event.
Here’s what Digium will be up to during ITEXPO:
While the conference program kicks off Tuesday morning with a day focused on content marketing, Asterisk World commences its sessions with Asterisk From Scratch, an informational session led by Melissa Shepherd, Digium’s Asterisk Training Manager. If you are new to Asterisk and would like to know what the software can do for you, how it’s deployed, and more, this is a must-attend session. Asterisk From Scratch continues with sessions throughout Tuesday, diving further into the must-knows of Asterisk, and leaving newbies with a wealth of information to begin their journey with the world’s most popular open source communications project.
On Wednesday, January 28, Brian Ferguson, Digium’s Product Marketing Manager for Switchvox, will lead the session Cloud vs. On-Premises vs. Hybrid: Which Way to Deploy? The discussion will focus on the major benefits and pitfalls of each UC deployment method to help companies choose the right method for them. (If you can’t make it to ITEXPO, you may want to check out Brian’s latest web series, UC Tech Chat for a fun look at mobility and other tech topics!)
David Duffett, Digium’s Asterisk Community Manager, will join a panel on Wednesday morning to discuss Making the Jump to Open Source – a session within the Communications Business Strategy Hot Trends. This session will discuss the benefits of moving to an open source solution, address the historical concerns with open source, and consider integration with existing infrastructure, such as telephony or video endpoints, so that even the largest enterprises will be ready to consider an open source solution.
ITEXPO will celebrate 20 Years of VoIP, and the innovation it has propagated, with a discussion led by conference chairman Rich Tehrani. The discussion includes many of the innovators and visionaries that have been part of the past 20 Years of VoIP, including our very own, Danny Windham, CEO of Digium.
Danny will also present a keynote speech on Thursday, January 29 at 9:00am discussing how communications is evolving from its traditional model as a standalone application to a future model where communications features and functions are tightly integrated into every facet of a business. Danny’s talk will highlight the underlying products and technologies enabling this trend, including WebRTC, as well as offer advice to users on planning and managing the steps along the way to creating a truly integrated UC strategy. (You can also find out what Danny has to say about 2015 business communications trends by watching this recent episode of Digium Live!)
