By Justin Hester

Toga Soluciones is bringing Digium’s certified Asterisk Training Program to Mexico City. Toga Soluciones, a Digium distributor and partner since 2014, is now offering the Asterisk Fast Start and Advanced courses followed by the dCAP certification exam. “We are pleased to have a local distribution partner in Mexico who can address the growing demand for both Asterisk based solutions, as well as official Asterisk Training”, says Lee Marlow, Distribution Account Manager for Digium.

Asterisk Advanced CoursesJune 2015 will mark the training premiere, adding Asterisk to the already impressive catalog of official Elastix courses and certifications Toga offers through their own Toga University. These first courses will be scheduled for the weeks preceding and following Toga’s annual conference Elastix be Free. This event brings together in Mexico City a wide blend of Open Source Communications companies, participants and speakers, including Asterisk Community Manager David Duffett. “I am really looking forward to the ‘Elastix Be Free’ in Mexico City.”, says David. “The event last year was a massive success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Toga/Elastix Mexico team. This year promises to be just as valuable for Elastix and Asterisk integrators and value-added resellers, and others in the Community. The course offerings during this time are a good opportunity to make June all about open source communications.”

Toga Soluciones is the only Digium Authorized Training Partner in Mexico, and is positioned tooffer this training affordably, in Spanish and in the heart of El Distrito Federal and near to a multitude of cultural attractions. Taught by Asterisk and Elastix subject specialist and integration engineer Julio Ramiréz (dCAP #2295), the courses are the quickest way to “come up to speed” on plain-vanilla Asterisk. Both Asterisk Advanced and Asterisk Fast Start cover concepts crucial to understanding the underlying Asterisk mechanisms of today’s most popular graphical PBX distributions.

Asterisk Advanced focuses on best practices for configuring the software from the ground up, and is beneficial for anyone wanting to move beyond the basics. Students who may have only configured the software from a popular distribution or appliance can use the course to jump-start their abilities to troubleshoot and deploy solutions based on Asterisk. The five-day classroom style training provides an ideal opportunity to meet and learn with peers in the Asterisk community.

The dCAP™ examination is offered at the end of the Asterisk Advanced course. It is recommended that students register for the exam in addition to the course.
