This week finds me in Huntsville, Alabama (the spiritual home of Asterisk) at Digium HQ. There are many reasons I love coming here, and in lots of ways it feels like home – even though I am really from England. But I am most excited to be on the Digium campus to help put the finishing touches to the stupendous schedule of AstriCon.
What a privilege it is to work with the team that continues to over see, and be the primary sponsor of, the amazing Open Source project that is Asterisk – as well as the organizer of the annual event that is all things Asterisk… AstriCon.
The 2016 event contains 3 days that are all about Asterisk… providing a glimpse at what is does, how it has benefited others, and how it can help YOU.
There are well over 40 talks to be given by the Community for the Community. The people of the Asterisk project really are an inspiration with their willingness to share and help others – and nowhere is this more clearly demonstrated than at AstriCon.
If you have not already been over to www.astricon.net to browse the schedule and book your pass – you really need to do that right now!
We have a special Diamond Pass so that you can share the love, and bring up to 3 (yes THREE) colleagues with you on one amazing, money-saving ticket.
As you may already know, James ‘bodacious’ Body of Truphone will be at AstriCon to bring his high-capital personal brand to the always exciting Dangerous Demo session – and this year we’ve gone BIG! The stakes have been upped as we have thrown in bigger prizes and a longer session, making Dangerous Demos at AstriCon this year the biggest and best ever!!!
You can almost smell the fear as Asterisk geeks from all over the world ponder what they will bring to greatest (and most Dangerous) demo show on earth…
If that was not enough to make AstriCon a must, on our Expo floor this year, we are expecting even more Open Source Showcase participants – get ready to meet Kamailio, CGRates, FreeSwitch, Homer, Matrix and OpenSIPS too.
Look out for further blogs, tweets and videos from speakers and other AstriCon participants coming up over the next few days and weeks. There are only a few weeks to go, so if you haven’t already, go register, now.
See you in Glendale!
