Everything is a GO for AstriCon in Orlando! Only 2 weeks to go…

By David Duffett

As I am sure you know, much of Florida and parts other states in the southeast U.S., and places further afield, are continuing to recover from the impact of Hurricane Irma, and in some places the rebuilding process will be lengthy. The thoughts and prayers of the AstriCon team are with everyone dealing in some way with this terrible situation.

One positive note is that the ChampionsGate in Orlando, site of this year’s AstriCon Conference, suffered very little damage. The hotel remained open throughout the storm, providing shelter for many displaced residents. The Omni staff are still looking forward to helping Digium host AstriCon 2017.

We are hopeful that having you in Orlando, Florida for AstriCon will in a small way help begin to bring much-needed normalcy and some influx of tourism revenue to the area again.

If you have not already got your AstriCon pass, time is running out – Do it NOW, at www.astricon.net

If you are speaking at AstriCon be sure to tell all your friends, colleagues and social media followers – so that they can come along too! If you are attending AstriCon for all that lovely Asterisk goodness you know you’re going to get, then don’t keep it a secret – make sure you spread the word so that anyone that could benefit of 3 days of all Asterisk is with us.

If you would like other ways to help Florida and other states rebuild from the recent hurricanes, you can make donations to Redcross.org

We look forward to seeing each of you in Orlando on October 3!
