Each AstriCon talk helps attendees to learn more about the use of open source in the telecom world and how it can be successfully leveraged to help solve common business communication issues. In this blog, we are highlighting just two of the sessions – one for the more advanced users and one for those folks who are just getting started with Asterisk.
The two workshops will be presented on Tuesday, October 9th, as part of AstriCon 2018. Be sure to register now to secure your spot at the 15th Annual AstriCon User Conference & EXPO, which is being held at the Omni Orlando Resort ChampionsGate.
Automating Asterisk on Kubernetes (OpenShift OKD)
Leif Madsen, DevOps team lead at Red Hat (and co-author of ‘Asterisk: The Definitive Guide’), along with Doug Smith of the NFV Partner Engineering Team at Red Hat, will co-facilitate this four-part workshop series.
In this workshop, you’ll get the opportunity to learn about how to assemble the right tools to automate the deployment and management of Asterisk in Kubernetes. Leif and Doug will leverage the tools in OpenShift (the Red Hat distribution of Kubernetes), including Ansible Playbook Bundles, Operators, the container service catalog, and continuous integration pipelines. They will speak about Kubernetes at a high level in order to help you understand the world of cloud-native computing, and how utilizing the functionality that Kubernetes provides can make your infrastructure simpler to manage at any scale from small to large.
Asterisk from Scratch
Digium’s Developer Products Training Manager, Chris Howard, will lead attendees through a series of presentations called Asterisk from Scratch (AFS). AFS is a well-rounded, informative overview of Asterisk and a guide to the building blocks within the project, with a focus on the essentials a general “newbie” should know. All skill levels are welcome. Whether you are managing a team deploying an Asterisk implementation, evaluating potential replacements for a legacy telephony solution, or are simply just new to Asterisk, this talk has something to offer you.
With over 45+ talks, we are confident that you will walk away from AstriCon with a much broader knowledge and confidence in implementing Asterisk solutions.
Hope to see you at AstriCon October 9-11. Register Now.
