The Digium|Asterisk Marketplace is a part of the Digium® Ecosystem where users, developers, and resellers can come together to obtain the components of a complete telephony solution. The Marketplace is an extension of the Digium Partner directory. Companies with a product or service which completes or complements an Asterisk® solution can become a member of the Digium|Asterisk Marketplace. The membership allows you to list your product or service in the Marketplace and market it to the Asterisk community, building awareness and increasing sales

  1. What comes with a Marketplace membership listing?

    A Marketplace membership includes placing your company name, a brief description of its products or services, telephone number, email address, and website URL. It is essentially a paid advertisement for your product or service. During the period your listing is active, you may also use on your website and marketing collateral a logo that indicates you are a participant in the Digium|Asterisk Marketplace.

  2. I'm interested in becoming a Marketplace member, but am wondering how the Marketplace is different from other forms of advertising?
    Traditional advertising outlets will give you high rates based on customer "impressions". Their audience is often broad, however, so only a small percentage of viewers may be interested in your offering. Asterisk has gained tremendous following and visibility. The Digium website is where users, developers, and prospective telephony customers come to find out more. The Marketplace allows you to target your advertising dollars directly at this vibrant and growing Asterisk ecosystem.

  4. What is the difference between companies with memberships in the Marketplace and Digium Partners?

    To make it easy for customers, both Partners and those companies with Marketplace membership can be found within the Digium|Asterisk Marketplace. Digium Partners must meet much more stringent qualifications, and have a closer relationship with Digium in return. Their companies are listed before Marketplace listing companies, and have larger listings with logos. Partnership fees are, in general, significantly higher than those of Marketplace memberships.

    By contrast, Marketplace memberships are simpler to obtain and less expensive — they are basically equivalent to an advertisement in print. Most companies can buy a listing in the Marketplace, as long as they meet a simple set of requirements and abide by the terms of the listing Agreement. Digium is not otherwise affiliated with companies listed in the Marketplace, and makes no guarantees whatsoever about their products or services.

  5. What is the difference between a Basic and Premium Marketplace memberships?

    Premium memberships use a larger typeface for the company name, and listings of all Premium members are positioned before those of all Basic members.

  6. What order are Marketplace members listed?

    Marketplace members' listings are positioned following Digium Partner listings, and are then listed by membership level (e.g. all Premium members, then all Basic members). Within each level, the listings are presented in order of seniority (amount of continuous time your company has been a member of the Marketplace). This makes it important to get your listing early and to maintain its renewal status.

  7. What are the advantages to companies who are early members of the Marketplace?
    Marketplace members are listed by level, and then seniority, so join the program as soon as possible to get the best possible position for your company's listing. You can join the program by filling out a few simple forms, and submitting payment information online. Once approved, your listing will be available to thousands of Asterisk users in just a few business days. In addition, members of the Marketplace reserve their seniority when moving to a higher level of membership (including Digium partnerships).
  8. How much does a Marketplace membership cost?

    The current price of a Basic membership is $395 per quarter, and a Premium membership is $595 per quarter.

  9. What is the promotional pricing?

    For a limited period, the Marketplace memberships are $795 per year for Basic, and $1195 per year for Premium.

  10. When is my payment charged?

    If you submit your payment via credit card or Paypal™ on the Digium website, your payment is collected that day. If for some reason you are not approved, your payment will be refunded.

  11. What is the approval process?

    After you submit the membership application, Digium will approve it within a couple of business days. Your company will then be listed for the duration of your membership - 3 months (for quarterly listings) or 1 year (for annual listings), beginning on the first day it is listed.

  12. How do I renew the membership? Is the renewal automatic?

    Before your membership expires, you will receive an e-mail from Digium with an invoice, reminding you to renew. If you submit your payment before the end of the term of your listing, your membership will remain in place. At this time, we are not set up to process automatic credit card renewals.

  13. Can I renew even after the expiration of my membership?

    Yes, but you may lose your position. You will have a short grace period of just 10 calendar days after your membership expires to reactivate it by making a payment. If you don't do so, you will lose your position and your membership listing will be displayed near the end of those at your membership level.

  14. Can I renew early?

    Yes, you can prepay for up to one year in advance.

  15. How can I find out when my membership expires?

    You can see it by logging into the Digium website using the address registered to the listing, then see My Account

  16. Can I change the information about my membership listing on the website?

    You can change anything about your listing except the Company name by simply sending an email to marketplace@digium.com describing what you would like to change. The name may only be changed if you provide evidence to Digium that your company has been bought, sold, merged, or legally changed its name.

  17. Can I purchase a membership for another company or on behalf of a third party?

    No, not without the written permission of the company or third party. By submitting the Marketplace Membership Application, you are certifying that you own the rights to the listing, including the name, any trademarks associated with it, and all rights to use that name in commerce. Digium reserves the right to remove membership listings that are clearly inaccurate, or that infringe on the rights of others.

  18. If I decide I no longer want to be a member of the Marketplace, can my listing be removed?

    Yes, but the listing fee is not refundable in most cases. See the Terms and Conditions for details.
