The LumenVox Speech Engine
The LumenVox Speech Engine is an accurate, standards-based speech recognizer that supports multiple languages and can perform speech recognition on audio data from any audio source. The speaker and hardware independent Speech Engine powers speech solutions and platforms deployed in enterprise and SMB environments worldwide.The Speech Engine also provides speech application developers on Asterisk with an efficient development and runtime platform, allowing for dynamic language, grammar, audio format, and logging capabilities to customize every step of their application. Grammars are entered as a simple list of words or pronunciations, or in the industry standard Speech Recognition Grammar Specification (SRGS).
What is a Speech Recognition Engine and Grammar?
The LumenVox Speech Engine is the core technology that handles the "recognition" of words and phrases. It is speaker-independent and does not require any special training. The engine relies on Grammars, which are a list of expected words or phrases that a caller might speak, to successfully recognize words. For example, a Call Router/Auto Attendant at a company will have all the names of the employees and perhaps "Sales" and "Support" loaded into the list of grammars.
How does it integrate?
The Speech Engine is directly and seamlessly integrated with the Asterisk platform and Dial Plan. Now application developers can easily build speech-enabled IVR's by using the familiar Dial Plan scripting language or the C-API.
LumenVox Speech Tuner
The LumenVox Speech Tuner is the only fully integrated maintenance tool that allows companies to perform speech application tuning and testing in-house. Tuning is an important part of the speech application deployment process. The LumenVox Speech Tuner uses prompts, grammars, call flow, and caller data to improve the speech application as a whole, to make speech solution deployments a success.The Tuner is designed to perform tuning and transcription, as well as instant parameter, grammar, and version upgrade testing of any speech application. With this GUI-based tool, companies developing speech applications can bring speech application tuning in-house and avoid costly professional service fees.
