SALT LAKE CITY, UT (January 12, 2005) — Endavo Media & Communications, Inc. (OTC BB: EDVO NEWS), the leading distributor of IP-based media and communications services, today announced its agreement with Digium® to distribute services via its peer-to-peer network, DUNDi™ (Distributed Universal Number Discovery).
Endavo's support of DUNDi promotes the proliferation of VoIP capable enterprise systems and allows distribution partners in local markets to efficiently access new value-added products to offer their customers, said CEO Paul Hamm.
"Joining DUNDi expands Endavo's market reach and significantly accelerates what we are able to bring to communities and partners around the country," said Hamm. "Endavo's philosophy -- enabling the distribution of IP-based services via an open, but managed, network -- matches Digium's thinking perfectly, so the fit is very natural for the Endavo EcoSystem, where all IP-based content and products can be secured and accounted for in a SIP-based environment."
DUNDi is a peer-to-peer system that locates and authenticates routes for Internet telephone numbers, or ENUM. Its fully distributed architecture allows independent organizations to establish trusted availability between multiple locations and act in concert. A geographically distributed organization, for example, can now establish trusted IP network availability and VoIP call routing between offices via the DUNDi system.
"The value of the DUNDi system is in the decentralized network approach," said Mark Hewitt, CTO of Endavo. "Because the system allows for trusted peer-to-peer exchange of routing and addresses, enterprise customers and service providers will have reliable and trusted service across the distributed network."
DUNDi's flexibility allows new gateways to be added to the network without the need for additional configuration. DUNDi was built using the open source Linux PBX Asterisk and acts as a fully-federated PBX in the enterprise with no central point of failure, providing consistency and economical service.
"Endavo's adoption of DUNDi shows real initiative and vision in applying this exciting technology to their network," said Mark Spencer, president of Digium. "We are excited to see companies like Endavo participating in growing this technology."
