Melbourne, 16 October 2008 — Wavelink Communications, a value added distributor of business IP telephony and wireless solutions, today announced the signing of a distribution agreement with Digium®, creator and primary corporate sponsor of the popular Asterisk® open source telephony platform.
Encompassing distribution in Australia, the agreement provides Wavelink with access to the Digium Switchvox family of IP PBXs. Supporting 1 - 400 users, the hardware solution provides users with an easy to use telephone solution based on Asterisk software. The Digium systems integrate seamlessly with user's IT environments (CRM platforms, web applications etc), enabling users to easily customise the system to their own work environment. The systems are open platform and support a wide range of SIP terminals; they will be packaged by Wavelink with their range of Polycom's SoundPoint SIP handsets.
There are extremely close links between Digium and Polycom, who is a leader in wired and wireless SIP terminals. Polycom is a Digium Preferred Interoperability Partners, while Digium participates in Polycom's VIP (VoIP Interoperability Partners) program.
