Digium Introduces Switchvox Rescue for Business Phone System Recovery
New Business Continuity Service for UC Marks Expansion of Digium’s Cloud Services Offerings
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., January 28, 2015—Today, Digium®, Inc. announced its newest service offering, Switchvox Rescue. Switchvox Rescue provides Switchvox on-premises business phone system customers with a business continuity solution to protect against unexpected downtime of their phone system. Switchvox is Digium’s award-winning Unified Communications (UC) system. Switchvox Rescue takes advantage of Cloud technology to restore a customer’s business communications in minutes, requiring only a single phone call to Digium to enable the recovery process. The service marks the latest expansion of cloud-based products and services from Digium Cloud Services (DCS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Digium.
Switchvox Rescue works together with a customer’s on-site Switchvox phone system to maintain a recent copy of the Switchvox configuration at a DCS secure datacenter. In the event the Switchvox premises-based appliance is unavailable for any reason, Digium will restore the configuration to a Switchvox Cloud system at DCS, upon customer notification.
“Switchvox Rescue offers customers an easy way to maintain communications continuity in the face of disaster,” said Adam Kramer, product manager for the Switchvox product line. “Digium’s Switchvox platform is unique in that the same core software is shared between the on-site and hosted versions. By adding our SIP Trunking services to the equation, we can offer a temporary, cloud-based recovery option in a way that is both reliable and effortless for our customers.”
Switchvox Rescue customers can access their rescued system from anywhere through the same award winning, browser-based interface that Switchvox customers enjoy in their main system. Rescue also allows users to utilize the advanced call routing options built into Switchvox to play recorded messages, take voicemail, and even route important calls to mobile or landline phones.
The new service is being introduced as part of the most recent Switchvox release, version 5.11, which is available to all Switchvox on-premises phone system customers. Switchvox Rescue will be available for order on February 2nd through Digium Cloud Services and is priced at $90 per month, but is available at an introductory rate of $45 per month, for a limited time.
